Plan your day

Plan your day around four main meals: breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Think about your weekly menu when you go shopping so you don’t run out of ingredients when it’s time to cook.

I served the portions with each family member’s needs in mind. For example, the children eat smaller portions.

Vegetables

Be sure to include half a plate of vegetables at lunch and dinner to reap all the benefits of fibre, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

Carbohydrates

Stop being afraid of carbs and, whenever you can, go for wholemeal options with added seeds!

Proteins

Don’t forget your protein: meat, fish, eggs, pulses, nuts, cheese, yoghurt and milk. They help build muscle and keep your bones healthy, as well as making your meals more filling.

Healthy fats

You shouldn’t be afraid of fats either; just choose ones that are nutritionally sound. At Noly, we use healthy fats, which you can supplement with avocado, nuts or fish.
